Clinical Laboratory Operations Director

Atria Physician Practice New York PC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Clinical Laboratory Operations to lead our clinical laboratory operations in New York City and Palm Beach, Florida.
Job Summary:The Director of Clinical Laboratory Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our clinical laboratories, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards, and driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee laboratory operations, including specimen receiving and accessioning, patient reporting, and quality assurance
- Lead a team of skilled medical assistants and LPNs, providing training and development opportunities
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive integration of automation
- Maintain a robust quality assurance management system, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to SOPs
- Develop laboratory performance metrics to ensure process monitoring, efficiency, and safety
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies, including CLIA and NY Department of Health
- Manage laboratory budgets, resources, inventory, and vendors, ensuring efficient use of materials and equipment
- Implement and coordinate Point-of-Care-Testing (POCT) at the Institute
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in clinical laboratory management and operations
- Associate of Science Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Proven track record with laboratory automation
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality assurance practices in a CLIA clinical laboratory setting
