Senior Demand Planning Manager

JMS Technical Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Demand Planning Manager to join our team in Vista, California. This is a remote position with occasional travel required.

Job Overview:

The Senior Demand Planning Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing our demand planning process. This role requires a blend of strong statistical modeling skills, demand forecasting expertise, and proficiency in advanced planning systems such as 09, Blue Yonder, OMP, and Kinaxis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demand Planning and Forecasting:
  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using statistical modeling techniques and data analysis.
  • Lead the monthly demand planning process, including demand review meetings and collaboration with sales, marketing, and finance teams to gather inputs and align on forecasts.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to predict future demand and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • System Implementation and Optimization:
  • Manage and optimize end-to-end planning processes using advanced planning systems such as 09, Blue Yonder, OMP, and Kinaxis.
  • Oversee the implementation of new demand planning tools and technologies to enhance forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Train and support team members on the effective use of demand planning software and tools.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of demand planners, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews to ensure team members achieve their full potential.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with supply chain, procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure alignment on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with the product development team to incorporate new product launches into demand planning and forecasting.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
  • Prepare and present regular reports on demand forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and key performance indicators to senior management.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of forecast variances and implement corrective actions to improve forecast accuracy and inventory optimization.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement best practices and process improvements in demand planning and forecasting.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and methodologies related to demand planning and supply chain management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, or Mathematics is a must. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in demand planning, and forecasting role preferably within the manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience with advanced planning systems such as 09, Blue Yonder, OMP, and Kinaxis is required.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team of demand planners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
