EDI Specialist Job Description

At Build-A-Bear, we're seeking a highly skilled EDI Specialist to join our team. As an EDI Specialist, you'll play a critical role in managing our electronic data interchange (EDI) system, ensuring efficient data exchange with our trading partners and supporting the growth of our wholesale market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues related to EDI transactions
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for EDI transactions
  • Stay up-to-date with EDI standards such as ANSI, X12, EDIFACT, and others
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field
  • 5 years' experience in IT, EDI, and project management
  • Experience in EDI development and support
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant certification (e.g., EDI Professional, EDI Specialist)
  • Proficiency in EDI standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and formats (e.g., XML, CSV)
  • Experience with EDI software and tools (e.g., IBM Sterling, GXS, SPS Commerce)
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, SQL)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and their integration with EDI
