Core Responsibilities:

1. Act as the primary relationship manager for borrowers in the assigned region's lending operations. Responsible for sourcing, underwriting, obtaining approvals, and facilitating the closing and monitoring of loans, including those requiring intricate structuring.
  • Guide prospective borrowers through the loan application, approval, and closing processes.
  • Evaluate projects for alignment with IFF and departmental objectives. Assess loan requests, including the agency's financial health and forecasts, site evaluations, operational plans, potential risks, and other pertinent data to support loan recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Credit Officer to underwrite, structure, package, and present loan proposals for approval to loan committees. Document terms and conditions and issue commitment letters.
  • Provide technical assistance on financing and financial systems to enhance the capacity of applicants and borrowers.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive information on all aspects of the loan program within IFF's Customer Relationship Management database, from initial contact through project closing and long-term monitoring.
  • Establish closing requirements and collaborate with the Closing and Escrow Services team, borrowers, attorneys, and others to ensure a timely and efficient closing process.
  • Work with the Portfolio Management team to support post-closing monitoring, including customer check-ins or site visits as necessary.
2. Lead business development initiatives to cultivate and sustain a robust loan pipeline. Collaborate with Marketing to implement effective outreach strategies, business development, and sales activities.
  • Generate and pursue business leads from an existing network of clients, contacts with agencies, market influencers, community leaders, and funders.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from potential borrowers, providing information about IFF lending programs, assessing loan readiness, and assisting in the preparation of loan submissions and related documentation.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual presentations or workshops for clients and prospective borrowers as coordinated with the Managing Director of Lending or in collaboration with other partners.
3. Collaborate with other Capital Solutions staff to research, develop, and enhance lending programs, policies, procedures, marketing materials, application forms, tracking systems, program objectives, and general communications.

4. Maintain necessary job knowledge, skills, and core professional competencies. Participate in required educational programs and staff meetings.

5. Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Foster an environment of empathy and respect, ensuring the inclusion of all team members, and actively engage in EDI events and learning opportunities.

6. Undertake additional projects as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required, preferably in business, accounting, or finance.

Previous Experience:
  • Seven years of experience in banking, finance, or real estate finance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial lending terminology and credit and financial statement analysis.
  • Experience in marketing loan products.
Special Knowledge & Skills: Familiarity with the nonprofit sector is strongly preferred; knowledge of construction and lending practices and terminology; strong interpersonal skills; comfortable in presentation and workshop settings; proficient in computer software, including spreadsheets (Excel) and databases.

Additional Requirements: Occasional evening and weekend work.
