Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting patients and customers with their billing inquiries, as well as performing various tasks related to accounts receivable, including research, resolution, and payment processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and Resolve Claims: Investigate and resolve claims from date of denial for assigned reason codes, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable Balances: Regularly review and analyze accounts receivable balances to identify potential collection issues, and contact patients as needed to resolve these issues.
  • Process Payments: Post electronic and non-electronic payments, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Submit Insurance Claims: Prepare and submit insurance claims to payers, and process rejected or denied claims by sending appeals and reconsideration letters.
  • Verify Patient Eligibility: Verify patients' eligibility, coverage, and benefits, and identify authorization requirements to ensure accurate and compliant billing.
  • Perform Other Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary to support the team and ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledgeable on the insurance process, medical terminology, and coding; proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; ability to understand and remember various accounting codes and use them appropriately; basic mathematics calculations; and ability to accurately enter data into computers and acquire a working knowledge of software applications necessary to the position.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
