Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Specialist in Accounting to contribute to our finance team. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and possess strong analytical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute month-end closing processes, including comprehensive reporting, detailed analysis, and accurate journal entries.
- Oversee vendor payable accounts, ensuring timely reconciliations and effective resolution of discrepancies in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
- Conduct evaluations and testing of internal controls to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Drive business process enhancements to improve overall financial operations.
- Provide support during balance sheet reviews and internal audit processes.
- Act as a representative of the finance department in cross-functional initiatives.
- Perform additional related tasks as required.
Qualifications Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (with a finance focus) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; OR an advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (with a finance focus) with at least 3 years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to access to restricted systems and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong grasp of fundamental accounting principles.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with enterprise management systems, especially SAP or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration across departments.
- Experience with financial reporting software such as HFM or OneStream.
- Knowledge of data management applications like Business Warehouse and Power BI.
- A keen ability to identify inefficiencies and propose operational improvements.
Work Environment:
This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring regular onsite and offsite work. Candidates should be prepared for commuting responsibilities as part of their role.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is between 77,000 USD and 163,000 USD, reflecting a good faith estimate for various experience levels. Compensation will be influenced by factors such as role responsibilities, candidate experience, and location.
