Clinical Support Specialist

Position Overview: Key Responsibilities
- Integral member of the healthcare team, ensuring excellent patient interactions and effective communication via phone
- Validation of patient details through direct engagement and confirming the reason for their visit
- Preparing individuals for medical evaluations by conducting initial health assessments
- Measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, weight, and temperature, while compiling a summary of patient history
- Coordinating appointments and managing routine tasks related to patient information and insurance verification
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcomes patients, records vital statistics, reviews ongoing medications, and updates medical records
- Aids in the collection and analysis of department-specific metrics
- Clarifies policies, procedures, or services to patients utilizing clinical or administrative expertise
- Oversees patient flow, manages communication channels, and prepares examination rooms according to patient requirements
- Sanitizes and reprocesses medical equipment and supplies, addressing issues and escalating when necessary
- Engages in daily team meetings, adheres to infection control protocols, and identifies opportunities for workflow enhancements
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
Educational Background:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational/Technical Diploma - Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution
Licensure/Certification:
Basic Life Support Certification from a recognized provider required upon employment
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinical environment is preferred
