Job Summary: As a Medical Assistant at Cedars-Sinai, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare teams.

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and positive patient relations.
  • Verify patient information through thorough interviews and confirm the purpose of each visit.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by conducting preliminary physical tests and gathering essential medical history.
  • Take vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and document patient information accurately.
  • Manage patient demographics, insurance information, and appointment scheduling with precision and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming patients, taking vital signs, reviewing current medications, and recording medical history with accuracy and compassion.
  • Assisting with data tracking and monitoring department-specific metrics to ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicating policies, procedures, and services to patients using clinical and administrative knowledge to ensure understanding and satisfaction.
  • Coordinating patient care flow, monitoring message pools, and setting up exam rooms to meet patient needs efficiently.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized environment, reprocessing equipment, and addressing concerns or escalating issues as necessary.
  • Participating in daily team huddles, adhering to infection prevention standards, and identifying opportunities for workflow improvement.

Requirements:

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational or Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting from an accredited program.

Certifications and Experience:

Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire.

2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinical or medical office setting is preferred.
