Job Summary

Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Education Program Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in nursing education and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement education programs for patients, staff, and the community, ensuring that all programs are aligned with the hospital's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with the Education Department team and Clinical leadership to identify educational needs and develop programs that meet those needs.
  • Provide education and training to staff on age-related and culturally competent patient care, ensuring that all staff members have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Identify safety concerns and implement measures to provide a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Assess educational needs and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Coordinate programs, projects, and events with Nursing, CS MDRH departments, and community throughout the Cedars-Sinai Health System.
  • Facilitate orientation and training for Nursing and Health System staff under the guidance of the Education Director.
  • Support on-unit training for new hires in collaboration with Clinical leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Education Director and Education Department team to implement educational offerings throughout the hospital.
  • Assist with the hospital-wide rollout of new equipment and products as assigned.
  • Review and update policies and procedures for assigned areas, ensuring that they are in line with current literature and best practice.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing.
  • Masters of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Valid CA Registered Nurse License.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • PALS and ANCC Specialty Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience teaching required.
  • Experience teaching while communicating effectively in English (written and verbal communication) with persons of various cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate all aspects of education course design and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of The Joint Commission and other state and local regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent time management, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Windows and other Microsoft Office software: MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Word, etc.
