LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Payable Accountant to support our client-growing company in Bellevue, WA. This is a 6-month contract position that requires full-time work at the client location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Invoice Management: Review, verify, and process invoices for payment while ensuring proper coding to general ledger accounts.
  • Match purchase orders, contracts, and delivery receipts to invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate with internal departments and vendors to resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process electronic transfers, ACH payments, and check disbursements in a timely manner.
  • Schedule and process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payments, ensuring adherence to payment terms.
  • Monitor due dates and ensure timely payments to avoid late fees and maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status, invoices, or discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure all vendor information is up to date, including W-9 forms and tax identification numbers.
  • Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring adherence to company policies and proper documentation.
  • Verify that expenses are correctly categorized and supported by receipts and approvals.
  • Prepare reimbursement payments for approved expenses.
  • Reconciliation and Reporting: Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis, ensuring accurate balances.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end accruals for expenses and other liabilities.
  • Support the accounting team with journal entries and adjustments as needed.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls related to accounts payable.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all invoices, payments, and related documents.
  • Assist with audits by providing documentation and explanations of AP transactions as requested.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and suggest improvements to the AP process for increased efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices for invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communication.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in accounts payable or accounting, preferably in a mid- to large-sized company.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP).
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with vendors and internal departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Compensation: $40-$50/hour DOE
