Role OverviewThe Mission Autonomy team is responsible for creating a robust platform that empowers users to efficiently develop, test, and refine multi-robot autonomy behaviors.
Our clients utilize diverse robotic agents that possess the ability to perceive their environment, navigate, and collaborate to fulfill objectives based on high-level directives from operators.
We are developing a versatile mission autonomy platform that operates across various robotic systems, ranging from sophisticated autonomous aircraft to smaller rotary-wing drones.
Each mission presents unique requirements, and our software must be adaptable to optimize the use of specific sensors and payloads.
The core components of our mission autonomy platform include a behavior tree execution framework, a motion planning library, and a tracking and fusion system.
Our platform is essential for achieving mission-critical goals in dynamic environments, necessitating that every element is designed to be understandable, dependable, and robust.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the complete software development lifecycle, from identifying problems to delivering effective solutions.
- Maintain an understanding of the technical architecture within your team to guide design choices effectively.
- Foster relationships with delivery and engineering teams to swiftly adapt to evolving missions and requirements.
- Mentor and guide fellow engineers to ensure they are prepared to take ownership of various aspects of the software development process.
- Establish standards for excellence in software engineering practices.
- Balance immediate business needs with the long-term vision and roadmap for product development.
A senior software engineer is characterized by their ability to engage with users, comprehend challenges, independently design and implement software solutions, and iterate based on user feedback.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, specifically with C++ in a Linux environment.
- Experience in developing innovative motion planning solutions for autonomous vehicles or mobile robotics.
- Must possess U.S. Person status to access export-controlled data.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
