Position Overview
The Quality Control (QC) Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of laboratory operations. This position involves conducting internal assessments, supporting external evaluations, and managing the upkeep of quality control documentation, certifications, and the review and modification of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the QC Analyst may encompass the following:

  • Facilitate team meetings to discuss quality standards and improvements.
  • Conduct thorough data audits to ensure compliance with established protocols.
  • Perform audits in response to client inquiries and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and response to external audits from clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Review Quality Assurance Project Plans, along with technical and quality control specifications in contracts and proposals.
  • Support the maintenance of laboratory certifications and accreditations.
  • Coordinate the scheduling, ordering, logging, and reporting of proficiency testing samples.
  • Stay informed about new regulations and effectively communicate updates to laboratory personnel.
  • Draft and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive historical records of technical documentation, including SOPs and quality control data.
  • Assist in monitoring the laboratory's adherence to reference methods, SOPs, and specific agency requirements.
  • Keep training records updated, including Demonstrations of Capability (DOCs) for all laboratory analysts.
  • Identify systematic issues within the laboratory and propose solutions for ongoing or recurring nonconformance.
  • Track and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee and evaluate Method Detection Limit (MDL) studies.
  • Generate control charts and control limits, ensuring updates to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Coordinate or conduct calibration of laboratory support equipment.
