Position Overview:

The Controls Technician plays a vital role in assisting the Project Manager and Technical Supervisor in the successful implementation of air conditioning control systems. This position emphasizes the importance of client engagement, project profitability, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Lead Project Manager and Technical Supervisor, the technician's duties encompass:

  • Interpreting engineered shop drawings
  • Understanding electrical schematics and mechanical piping layouts
  • Conducting thorough 'Point to Point' checkouts
  • Maintaining precise daily documentation
  • Adjusting graphics as necessary
  • Accessing programs from the library
  • Working with systems such as:
    • Terminal Air Units
    • Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
    • Packaged and Split Systems
    • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
    • Basic Hydronic Systems
  • Providing support to lead technicians
  • Troubleshooting communication trunks
  • Diagnosing low voltage control circuits
  • Modifying code to align with project specifications
  • Executing loop tuning
  • Creating and adjusting graphics
  • Facilitating basic integration with third-party systems
  • Acting as the primary contact for customers
  • Coordinating and supervising installations
  • Participating in job meetings as necessary
  • Maintaining and tracking field as-builts
  • Conducting customer training sessions

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Air Conditioning Control Systems
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
