Position Overview

As a Construction Equipment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting Regional Construction & Mining operations. This position is accountable for the strategic planning, scheduling, budgeting, utilization, and dependability of a fleet of construction and mining machinery. You will address both immediate and long-term challenges associated with the equipment fleet.

Your primary objective will be to enhance equipment reliability while implementing, monitoring, auditing, and managing preventative maintenance initiatives.

The successful candidate will initially be based in one of several locations and will then relocate across the USA as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all federal, state, and company health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage material handling and procurement processes.
  • Develop and maintain tool/filter inventories and documentation.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment and components.
  • Oversee logistics management and communication.
  • Engage in long and short-term equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Prepare planning and paperwork for critical lifts.
  • Utilize reliability and failure analysis data to enhance equipment availability and dependability.
  • Facilitate communication across all levels of supervision and management.
  • Support craft maintenance technicians by ordering parts, managing inventory, scheduling crews, and ensuring quality and safety.
  • Undertake specialty projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Possess an undergraduate AS/BS degree in Diesel/Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
  • 3+ years of experience with equipment is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting is preferred.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to completing tasks.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Display strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects while prioritizing tasks.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate as necessary.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments.
  • Familiarity with CAD modeling programs is preferred.
  • Capability to access all areas of a construction site or equipment yard in various climates and environments.

  • Work during standard operating hours to organize and complete tasks within deadlines. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • Flexibility to work at various locations with varying conditions.
