Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Equipment Specialist to join our team at OU Health. As a key member of our Pediatric Anesthesiology department, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and distribution of anesthesia equipment and supplies are performed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Equipment Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of anesthesia machines and equipment to ensure cleanliness and operational readiness.
  • Decontamination and Sterilization: Decontaminate anesthesia machines and sterilize equipment and devices according to established protocols.
  • Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Assemble and set up anesthesia equipment according to established protocols and age-appropriate criteria for scheduled cases.
  • Supply Management: Order and stock anesthesia medications and supplies, maintaining accurate records of receipt and issuance.
  • Quality Control: Review stored medications, ensure expired medications are properly discarded, and maintain an adequate level of anesthesia gas.
  • Transportation and Support: Provide charged transport monitors for all patients and observe and report equipment malfunctions or unsafe environments.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Six (6) months of experience in a surgical setting, medical supply, or equipment inventory, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of anesthesia methods and procedures, basic inventory control, and good interpersonal skills.
