Job Summary

The Business Development Officer - Portfolio Manager is a key role within Ocean Bank, responsible for driving business growth and managing portfolios comprised of deposits and commercial loans. This position requires a strong understanding of banking operations, sales, and customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Generate new business opportunities, expand existing client relationships, and increase revenue through account additions and other services.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage corporate loan portfolios, depository accounts, and customers' financial needs, including related depository relationships.
  • Lead Generation: Develop leads and referrals, and make sales calls to cross-sell products suitable for customers' needs.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to meet with prospective clients and expand business relationships.
  • Compliance: Ensure knowledge of all related BSA/AML and CIP customer requirements/rules.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field of study, such as Accounting or Finance, with five years of banking-related experience in product sales and lending, or an Associate's Degree with an established portfolio of banking relationships and a minimum of seven years of banking experience in product sales and lending.
  • Travel: Ability to travel and visit prospective clients within a designated area to increase depository and loan production/sales goals.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a focus on providing excellent customer service. Strong sales skills and ability to sell various products. Leadership abilities to lead projects and manage people indirectly.
  • Technology: Proficiency in MS Office Software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of banking laws and applicable compliance regulations, including the completion of Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
