Position Overview

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is a well-established firm with over a century of experience, dedicated to delivering high-quality engineering solutions. We are currently seeking a seasoned Lead Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to enhance our team in the Tampa region. This pivotal role involves overseeing and directing water and wastewater initiatives from conception to execution, ensuring that all deliverables align with client expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive marketing strategies to establish new client partnerships and enhance the firm's footprint in the water/wastewater sector.
  • Oversee, plan, and provide design leadership for water and wastewater projects, ensuring technical proficiency and compliance with project specifications.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor ongoing work, and ensure precise client invoicing.
  • Ensure timely project delivery while adhering to established budgets and quality benchmarks.
  • Engage in all stages of project construction, including pre-bid meetings, bid assessments, contract formulation, and construction supervision.
  • Participate in initial project discussions, client presentations, and interviews to secure new project engagements.
  • Lead project planning from procurement through to execution and completion, ensuring efficient project management and achievement of objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification in the state of Florida.
  • A minimum of 15 years of pertinent experience in water and wastewater engineering.
  • In-depth understanding of Florida's water and wastewater regulations, standards, and practices.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and delivering intricate water and wastewater projects within set timelines and budgets.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in guiding junior engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools for water and wastewater design and analysis.
  • Active participation in professional organizations related to water and wastewater engineering.
