We're seeking a motivated Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Florida Water Business Group. As a Project Engineer, you will serve as the main technical lead for the delivery of a variety of exciting and challenging municipal water and wastewater projects across the State of Florida. You will be expected to grow and learn the fundamental aspects of becoming a Project Manager in the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Engineering and Task Management: Provide project engineering and task management; lead detailed design preparation of engineering plans and specifications for design of water or wastewater facilities and related infrastructure; perform hydraulic evaluations and modeling efforts for pressure and gravity linear systems; and develop planning, preliminary engineering, and other technical reports.
  • Inter-Disciplinary Coordination: Provide inter-disciplinary coordination leadership on projects with various disciplines engaged in project delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Work independently in addition to planning, organizing and assisting groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task.
  • Project Permitting: Assist in project permitting efforts with various regulatory and municipal entities.
  • Project Management Support: Assist Project Managers with internal activities to successfully manage a project (e.g. resource management, invoicing, quality management, etc).
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree: Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or related engineering field.
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with municipal or industrial water/wastewater systems, process and design.
  • Strong Technical Background: Strong technical background and experience in water or wastewater treatment, water quality, water system distribution and/or wastewater collection systems, pipeline and pump station design.
  • Ambition to Lead: Ambition to leverage quality-focused technical background into a client-facing Project Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience executing technical studies, analyses, and/or designing and creating plans and specifications for water focused projects.
  • Professional Engineer License: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Independent Decision-Making: Ability to make independent decisions and be accountable for the results.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task.
