Position Overview

The Wastewater Treatment Engineering Supervisor plays a pivotal role in managing engineering operations at a significant wastewater treatment facility. This position is essential for supporting the overall administration of the facility and its associated pumping stations, while also overseeing the digital control systems in place.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor engineering staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct independent analyses to enhance the efficiency of wastewater treatment operations.
  • Examine and interpret operational data from various systems to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Perform compliance inspections of treatment and distribution facilities to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Monitor operational processes and environmental conditions to maintain compliance with relevant permits and regulations.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of digital control systems and IT network equipment.
  • Coordinate testing and calibration of analytical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data management system for operational records and engineering documentation.
  • Assess training requirements for staff and facilitate necessary training programs.
  • Assist in the orientation of new employees and support operators in preparing for certification examinations.
  • Review and update operational procedures to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Manage the operation and upkeep of off-site pumping stations and related facilities.
  • Compile and analyze plant data to generate compliance reports for regulatory agencies.
  • Review engineering plans and specifications to support design development and recommend upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and manage contracts for materials and services, including bid reviews and project management.
  • Conduct financial analyses to support budgetary decisions and operational modifications.
  • Participate in strategic planning to enhance operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.
  • Administer safety programs and investigate incidents to ensure workplace safety.
Work Environment

This role is situated within an industrial wastewater treatment setting, requiring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental or wastewater management.
  • Alternatively, a high school diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Certification or ability to obtain necessary operational certifications within specified timeframes.
  • Availability to respond to emergencies as required.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a supervisory capacity is highly desirable.
