Key Responsibilities- Full-Cycle Cost Accounting: Oversee all aspects of cost accounting for the supply chain, including material costs, labor costs, and overhead costs. Ensure accurate cost tracking, reporting, and analysis from procurement through production to final distribution.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular reconciliations to ensure alignment between physical and system inventory. Monitor inventory levels and assess the impact on financial results.
- Cost Analysis and Reporting: Prepare detailed cost analysis reports, including variance analysis between actual and standard costs. Provide insights into cost drivers and recommend strategies to control costs.
- Freight and Import Cost Management: Manage and analyze costs associated with freight and imports, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to optimize freight costs and manage import duties and taxes.
- Tax Compliance: Collaborate with the tax team to ensure proper accounting for import duties, tariffs, and other tax-related items. Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts related to cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory. Provide financial projections and scenarios based on cost trends and potential cost savings.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls related to cost accounting processes, inventory management, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including supply chain, procurement, production, logistics, and tax, to ensure accurate cost accounting and financial reporting.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in cost accounting and inventory management. Implement best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle supply chain cost accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with freight, imports, and tax compliance related to supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
