Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled and results-oriented Supply Chain Operations Manager to lead the management of our inbound and outbound logistics. This pivotal role focuses on enhancing our operational efficiency and ensuring competitive service levels across our business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture robust partnerships with carriers, negotiate favorable contracts, and ensure adherence to service-level agreements across all transportation modes.
  • Monitor carrier performance metrics such as on-time delivery and service quality, addressing any discrepancies swiftly.
  • Direct logistics and transportation strategies, aiming to improve efficiency and optimize freight expenditures.
  • Manage the Logistics Freight Payment and Audit process, collaborating with various business functions and third-party suppliers.
  • Assist in the development of the logistics department budget, effectively forecasting expenses and resource allocation.
  • Leverage data analytics to assess logistics performance, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and prepare regular reports on key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with accounting, operations, and third-party auditors to ensure a solid framework for freight payments and audits.
  • Support the Fleet Manager in maintaining compliance with federal regulations related to transportation operations.
  • Provide assistance to facilities in driving cost-effective and service-oriented improvements.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Over 10 years of proven experience in logistics management or a comparable role, demonstrating a successful history in supply chain optimization.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of DOT compliance, fleet operations, and audit procedures is essential.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain management principles, practices, and software tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
