About the Role: Supply Chain Operations Leader at Gateway Recruiting, INC.

We are seeking a skilled Supply Chain Operations Leader to oversee our organization's inbound and outbound logistics. The successful candidate will prioritize enhancing our transportation solutions while ensuring cost-effectiveness and superior service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with carriers, negotiate agreements, and guarantee adherence to transportation contracts.
  • Evaluate carrier performance metrics such as punctuality and service excellence, addressing any challenges swiftly.
  • Direct logistics and transportation functions to boost efficiency and optimize freight costs.
  • Oversee the Freight Payment & Audit process and collaborate with various departments and external partners.
  • Assist in formulating the logistics department budget, forecasting expenditures, and effectively allocating resources.
  • Leverage data analysis to assess logistics performance, pinpoint areas for improvement, and deliver regular updates on key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, operations, and third-party audit firms to ensure a comprehensive freight payment and audit process.
  • Support the Fleet Manager in ensuring Fleet compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist facilities in driving enhancements in cost efficiency and service delivery.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 20%).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Over 10 years of experience as a Logistics Manager or in a comparable position, with a focus on supply chain optimization.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in DOT compliance, Fleet Operating Procedures, and auditing processes.
  • Knowledgeable in logistics and supply chain management principles, practices, and software tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in logistics management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to excel in a dynamic work environment.
