Customer Service Representative

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs
- Approach and interact with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
- Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines
- Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
- Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise for customers
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls or take messages as needed
- Open additional registers, when necessary, to ensure enough coverage always
- Assist in line vesting to help quicker turnaround time for checkout
- Prepare register area at the beginning and end of shift by confirming functionality of registers and scanners and stocking register supplies
- Inspect returned merchandise for damages
- Enter and submit customer orders, print order tickets, verify receipts, and sign off on loading tickets
- Review and place online orders and returned merchandise in the appropriate areas
- Look up product information and competitor prices for products to verify price match
- Record all items that are used in the store on the store use lists
- Obtain safety bags from the cash office and monitor the amount of cash in the drawers to ensure it does not exceed requirements
- Monitor merchandise entering and leaving the store entrances and exits and assist customers or associates who trigger the alarm
- Detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicate them to management and/or Asset Protection
- Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates
- Operate store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department
Requirements:
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier
- 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Less than a year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting
