About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Department Coordinator to join our team at TJ Maxx. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience and overseeing a team of Associates at the front of the store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Experience: Create a positive internal and external customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store.
  • Team Leadership: Lead by example and train and mentor Associates on front end principles, including personalizing the customer experience and promoting loyalty programs.
  • Operations: Assign registers, support and respond to POS coverage needs, and coordinate breaks for all Associates.
  • Problem Solving: Address customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Store Execution: Ensure Associates execute tasks and activities according to store plan, and prioritize as needed.
  • Communication: Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, and provide progress updates.
  • Training and Development: Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
  • Adherence to Policies: Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Promote credit and loyalty programs, support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs, and promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Requirements
  • Availability: Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Merchandising Knowledge: Strong understanding of merchandising techniques.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Team Player: Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Leadership Experience: 1 year retail and 6 months of leadership experience.
