Location: Sugar Land, Texas

Position Overview: The Electrician works closely with the Plant Electrical Engineer and performs a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair, and/or distribution of electrical energy.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes (e.g. six sigma analysis), and propose and implement remedies.
  • Ability to work off shifts (afternoons and midnights) and overtime, as necessary.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • This position may also require climbing or balancing.
  • Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
  • Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details.

Preferred Requirements:

  • AS Electrical Engineering preferred, but not required.
  • Journeyman license preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3 year's industrial electrical/programming experience or two-year technical degree strongly preferred.

Competencies:

  • Problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, worker that can work autonomously in a fast-paced and often loud production environment.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is required (e.g. lockout / tagout, low voltage electrical to 480V AC).
  • PLC programming required; Multiple platforms such as Allen Bradley PLC5, Control Logix, HMI, and Servo Drive programming and troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes (e.g. six sigma analysis), and propose and implement remedies.
  • Strong computer skills required; Microsoft Office proficiency as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred.
  • Experience in computer networking (routers, Ethernet, switches, etc.) preferred.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience in high-speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment preferred.
