We are seeking a highly skilled Audio Visual Systems Engineer to join our team at Fort Bend County. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing our Audio Visual systems in county courtrooms, huddle rooms, and digital signage.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AV hardware and software, with experience in designing and integrating new video and audio equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that custom AV hardware and software is qualified and set up to meet the needs of our customers.

Additionally, you will be responsible for cabling and wiring to implement technologies into AV setups, documenting all facets of system integration, and partnering with relevant 3rd party vendors to maintain, troubleshoot, and participate in problem-solving AV hardware and software issues.

As a key member of our team, you will also be responsible for setting up and operating video cameras, audio equipment, equipment layouts, and wiring schematics, and managing troubleshooting of AV and networking equipment.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced AV engineer who can provide guidance on storing, transporting, assembling, and disassembling AV equipment, as needed. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to develop standards and processes for the selection, implementation, utilization, and maintenance of AV installations across all County Departments/Offices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing Audio Visual systems in county courtrooms, huddle rooms, and digital signage
  • Ensuring custom AV hardware and software is qualified and set up to meet the needs of our customers
  • Cabling and wiring to implement technologies into AV setups
  • Documenting all facets of system integration
  • Partnering with relevant 3rd party vendors to maintain, troubleshoot, and participate in problem-solving AV hardware and software issues
  • Setting up and operating video cameras, audio equipment, equipment layouts, and wiring schematics

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree or High School/GED with 4+ years of experience in Workplace audiovisual systems, installation, configuration, and design
  • Familiarity with communications hardware and software
  • Competence with AV equipment Theory of Operations and set-up
  • Expertise in processing control, routing, and audio video signal flow with software
  • Understanding AV technologies and IT systems on a technical level
  • Awareness of the latest trends, hardware, and features in AV equipment
  • Familiarity with graphics, encoding, and video editing software
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, collaboration, and working across teams
