Division Overview

Crown's Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees, and teas, as well as new energy drinks. We lead the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans.

Our aluminum cans offer a large printable surface area, a wide range of sizes, shapes, and decorating options, making them the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts.

Job Summary

The Printer Operator works closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure the printing of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain activities of the printer/decorator beverage cans with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Spoilage.
  • Operate, maintain, and ensure the safe operation of decorator equipment.
  • Communicate all pertinent information between the supervisor, quality control, departments, and between shifts on changes to equipment, production problems, or any other related information.
  • Assist and train new operators as needed or required.
  • Apply skills and methods to improve plant production.
  • Inspect product to ensure compliance to quality standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and modifying existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal efficiencies.
  • Complete and/or administer necessary documentation, such as production sheets, schedules, monthly SAFE cards, accident/near miss/hazard reporting, and process control sheets.
Requirements
  • High School Education/GED.
  • 2-3 years of experience in setup/operating/adjusting printing decorators in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to operate, read, understand, and use measuring x rite color density gauge, and computers.
  • Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support.
Preferred Requirements
  • 10 Hour OSHA Certification.
  • Operation of a Rutherford Printer.
  • Beverage Packaging industry experience.
  • Ink toning knowledge.

  • Computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
Working Conditions

The associate will work in a manufacturing environment and be exposed to moving mechanical parts, product ink/additives, cleaning chemicals, climbing, oven heat, and tight spaces. The production noise level is frequently loud.
