Position Overview:

The Facilities Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting production activities by ensuring peak equipment functionality through proactive maintenance strategies and effective troubleshooting of equipment issues to minimize unexpected downtime.

This role leads the maintenance team by providing direction, mentorship, and training resources to promote professional development. The supervisor will establish a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance program and oversee the maintenance order management system. Building strong relationships with equipment suppliers and anticipating equipment requirements to maintain an adequate inventory of parts is essential.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance team, parts inventory, and equipment management.
  • Guide and mentor the maintenance team to enhance performance.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant local, state, federal, and company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and VP of Engineering and Manufacturing to:
    • Meet customer delivery timelines.
    • Develop operational schedules and synchronize maintenance with production activities to achieve manufacturing goals.
    • Communicate effectively with quality assurance and production teams to support operational needs.
  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly performance reports as required.
  • Monitor production equipment performance to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Manage employee recruitment, training, performance assessments, documentation, compensation, and termination processes.
  • Foster a positive and proactive workplace culture.
  • Effectively address employee-related issues.

Work Environment: This is a 24/7 operational facility.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with Blow Mold Machinery is essential.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in training employees on productivity and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to coach and mentor individuals and groups effectively.
  • Exemplary leadership skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a production environment, including sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, lifting, handling, or feeling objects.
  • Vision requirements of 20/40 in each eye, with or without correction.
  • Compliance with all safety standards and procedures is mandatory.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending may be required.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
