About the Role:

Oversee and coordinate the operations of the Facilities and Utilities department under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager.

Manage the operational activities at the facility, including assignments for operating engineers, contractor maintenance, and related services such as:

boiler and steam operations, refrigeration, HVAC, building systems, fire suppression, landscaping, parking lot safety, and wastewater treatment.

Align work order priorities with the directives of the management team. Uphold and advocate for all company policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
Ensure the strategic planning of maintenance activities in the Utilities and Facilities sectors.
Execute skilled repair and maintenance tasks using various tools and equipment.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to create templates and establish reference points for team members.
Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including downtime, production statistics, inventory data, and test results.
Engage with vendors and suppliers to discuss products utilized in repair operations in collaboration with the purchasing department.
Work alongside health, safety, and environmental teams for certification processes.
Maintain compliance with ammonia safety programs and mechanical integrity protocols.
Organize and manage the implementation of programs for routine and extraordinary reviews of maintenance systems.

Ensure effective building management and preventive maintenance strategies; conduct lifecycle evaluations for all utility equipment.

Coordinate contractors for physical plant designs, construction, and maintenance activities.
Ensure accurate documentation for internal and external audits.
Maintain records related to inspection certificates from external entities.
Guarantee the functionality and routine testing of fire suppression systems.
Supervise maintenance activities on utility equipment and facilities, ensuring operational programs are executed.
Determine schedules and coordinate assignments based on priority and personnel skills.
Facilitate training for staff in safety, repair, and operational procedures.
Develop, implement, and assess maintenance policies and procedures.
Participate in budgeting for utilities, facilities, and energy.

Who We Are Looking For:
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of product technology, utilities, facilities, and food processing.

Familiarity with business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of personnel and resources.

Skills in motivating, developing, and directing teams; managing time effectively; and communicating information clearly.
Ability to monitor and assess individual performance for improvement; coaching and mentoring employees; and effectively communicating in writing.
Proficiency in coordinating the use of equipment, facilities, and materials for specific tasks; applying logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions; and weighing costs and benefits of potential actions.
