Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accounting Specialist to join our team at Synectics. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the cost accounting function, including cost roll, research, and correction. You will also provide support for the general accounting function, including monthly accounting close, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Accounting: Roll new product costs, research and correct costs throughout the year, and conduct the annual cost roll.
  • General Accounting: Assist with the monthly accounting close process, including journal entry preparation, inventory reconciliations, and other account reconciliations.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist the Plant Controller and Ops Directors with variance analysis, forecasts, budgets, and other financial analysis.
  • Reporting: Prepare daily productivity and inventory reports, as well as weekly PPM information.
  • Internal Controls: Assist in the implementation and improvement of internal controls.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate annual physical inventories and maintain fixed asset subsidiary ledgers.
  • Accounts Payable: Assist in resolving receiving issues at the plants.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of cost accounting and plant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Public accounting experience may be considered in lieu of manufacturing experience if the candidate can demonstrate a solid understanding of a standard costing system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • CPA or CMA certification is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Excel is a must.
