Job Summary

As a key member of the food and beverage team, the Assistant Food and Beverage Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily food and beverage/culinary activities. This includes maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction, while adhering to the operating budget and ensuring compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supervision of food and beverage/culinary daily operations, ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Supervise daily food and beverage shift operations, including the ordering of supplies, cleaning, and uniforms.
  • Support and supervise an effective monthly self-inspection program.
  • Operate all department equipment as necessary and report any malfunctions.
  • Supervise staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Communicate areas that need attention to staff and follow up to ensure understanding.
  • Coordinate cleaning programs in all food and beverage areas, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Follow property-specific second effort and recovery plans.
  • Stay readily available and approachable for all team members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the brand-specific service culture.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide information to supervisors and coworkers by telephone, in written form, email, or in person.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Perform hourly job functions if necessary.
  • Extend professionalism and courtesy to team members at all times.
  • Comprehend budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports.
