Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Performance: Achieve the restaurant's overall profit goals in dollars and percentages each month.
  • Operating Expenses: Maintain food-and-beverage operating expenses within budget in dollars and percentages for each budget line item.
  • Purchasing Procedures: Implement and adhere to all Company purchasing procedures and controls to protect the Company's financial assets.
  • Asset Protection: Protect the restaurant's assets, including cash, equipment, food, beverage, and supplies.
  • Inventory Management: Assure that physical inventories are accurately reported to management.
  • Customer Service: Represent the restaurant with enthusiasm, professionalism, and businesslike appearance and demeanor to all visitors, clients, prospective clients, and agents.
  • Event Management: Assist with the booking, servicing, and rebooking of restaurant events, including private dining and meetings.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Make recommendations to the restaurant manager regarding restaurant, bar, and banquet promotions, advertising, and other marketing activities.
  • Employee Relations: Continually communicate formally and informally with restaurant employees regarding Company philosophy, goals, and policies.
  • Recruitment and Training: Recruit, promote, and transfer restaurant employees within legal requirements and Company guidelines.
  • Employee Development: Provide guidance and comments to subordinates to improve their work performances.
  • Quality Control: Regularly monitor the quality and content of employees' contact with customers.
  • Manuals and Handbooks: Maintain complete and updated manuals and handbooks, including the Employee Handbook.
  • Workplace Safety: Maintain a safe and secure workplace for employees and a safe and secure restaurant, bar/lounge, and other areas for customers and visitors.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all laws and regulations regarding workplace safety and health.
  • Employee Training: Provide for employee training in workplace and customer safety, health, and security.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary Company information.
  • Continuing Education: Participate in job-oriented continuing education programs.
  • Community Relations: Promote good relations with the restaurant's vendors and neighbors.
  • Forecasting: Provide restaurant staff with accurate periodic short-term forecasts of customer counts, revenues, and expenses.
  • Facility Maintenance: Conduct daily tours of all food-and-beverage facilities to discover, report, and correct maintenance, cleanliness, and organization deficiencies.
  • Departmental Meetings: Assist with conducting regularly scheduled departmental meetings according to Company standards.
