Role: Scientist (Chemistry)

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist in Chemistry to contribute to our founding team at Strand Research. In this role, you will be responsible for developing novel small molecules and macromolecules for cutting-edge applications in hair care.

  • Design and execute experiments to develop novel molecules, leveraging your expertise in chemistry and biochemistry.
  • Lead research conception, planning, and execution of studies that support our R&D projects, driving them from proof-of-concept to product validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine experimental plans, ensuring data-driven decision-making and accelerated product development.
  • Develop and standardize protocols for synthesis and scale-up, ensuring efficiency and reproducibility in our processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in biochemistry and chemistry, implementing new technologies to enhance our capabilities.
  • Develop and present new project concepts to expand our pipeline of innovative solutions.
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and leadership within the organization.

Requirements

  • You hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or PharmD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • You possess extensive knowledge of current techniques in chemistry or biochemistry, with hands-on experience in their application.
  • You are intensely focused on driving discoveries from the lab to the market, ensuring that concepts are not just theoretical but are translated into tangible, impactful products.
  • You have a deep curiosity and a passion for tackling challenging problems in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging a diverse range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
  • You are an adaptable team player, ready to go the extra mile and take on ad hoc tasks to support the overall growth of the company.
