As a Patient Access Coordinator at Rutland Regional Medical Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient access to our services. Your primary responsibility will be to schedule patients for elective and urgent appointments, working closely with Prior Authorization staff to ensure necessary authorizations are in place. You will also be responsible for pre-registering patients by collecting demographic and insurance information for both outpatient and inpatient services. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will be essential in notifying patients of pertinent visit information, such as patient preps and check-in times. This role requires a strong focus on patient needs, efficient use of hospital resources, and optimization of insurance benefits for the patient and the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years prior registration/scheduling experience.
  • 3rd party payer experience preferred.

Key Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Demonstrated typing ability of 40 wpm.
  • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated logic and critical thinking for problem resolution.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.

Pay Range: $17.11 - $25.41
