Job Overview

Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region is seeking a skilled Patient Access Center Specialist to provide exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls with excellent customer service skills.
  • Schedule patients within the algorithm designed, and utilize the nurse triage when necessary.
  • Properly scan all appropriate paperwork into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Work closely with each practice to ensure all data items are accessible and in the correct standard EMR location.
  • Provide directory information to internal and external inquirers.
  • Act in a professional manner at all times.
  • Knowledgeable of all departments and services available in the facility.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required or equivalent; college degree preferred or equivalent education and experience.
  • Microsoft Office & Electronic Health Record Skills.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to learn new skills and adapt to change quickly.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Completes work in accordance with productivity metrics.
  • Must be able to provide information regarding office policy and procedure.
  • Must be able to manage emergency situations in a calm manner.
  • Must have strong decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to interpret instructions and prepare records.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
