Position Summary

The Senior Sales Account Manager is responsible for promoting JTEKT's innovative products and services to foster new business opportunities. The Account Manager will effectively communicate business prospects, challenges, and updates to various JTEKT teams to meet client expectations and achieve corporate objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and nurture relationships with both potential and existing clients.
  • Gather and analyze RFQ requirements to ensure accurate processing.
  • Receive and confirm customer purchase orders.
  • Engage in routine commercial and technical discussions with automotive manufacturers, including international and service divisions.
  • Conduct visits to the engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing facilities of assigned automotive clients.
  • Provide technical support in systematic problem-solving initiatives, collaborating with internal teams and customers as needed.
  • Identify, develop, and prepare quotations for new business ventures and product design updates.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation and reporting requirements (e.g., NAFTA, AALA, CAFÉ).
  • Lead project management efforts to guarantee customer timelines are adhered to.
  • Negotiate and assist in resolving customer-related issues (pricing, quality, etc.).
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, sales forecasts, and marketing materials to effectively grow assigned accounts.
  • Monitor product development activities to ensure customer satisfaction is met or exceeded.
  • Document and report sales results, market trends, and variances as appropriate.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role does not include supervisory duties.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in negotiating with purchasing and engineering departments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with major automotive manufacturers and their processes (e.g., GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems and subsystems (steering, driveline, vehicle dynamics) is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, multicultural environment with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • High initiative with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in personal computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typically an office setting with minimal health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent on a computer, requiring dexterity for keyboard and office equipment use. Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas may require personal protective equipment.

Travel by automobile and plane may be necessary, approximately 10-20% of the time.
