The Lead Solutions Architect is responsible for transforming consumer requirements into innovative smart home product categories that seamlessly integrate hardware and software services within connected products. This position entails comprehensive ownership of product definition, architecture, and leading successful implementations to translate customer needs into groundbreaking solutions that Universal Electronics can deliver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute technology and platform roadmaps for an expanding array of hardware and software platforms and products, including low-power wireless SoCs, advanced wireless controllers, sensors, thermostats, and new hardware innovations, all supported by growing cloud services.
  • Collaborate with global commercial teams and strategic partners to pinpoint shared consumer and industry demands.
  • Lead diverse cross-departmental and multi-regional designs from initial concept to final realization.
  • Assess emerging technologies and solutions to inform technology roadmaps.
  • Create innovative solutions that integrate advanced communication and navigation technologies for a connected home ecosystem.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Engage with technology partners and clients to explore new technologies and methodologies.
  • Establish strategic relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Communicate the key benefits and trade-offs of various technology platforms.
  • Draft product specification documents for sales initiatives.
  • Work alongside Cost Management Engineering on unit costing and collaborate with Sales on pricing strategies.
  • Define detailed product features, functions, and requirements.
  • Oversee Engineering and Project/Product Management during initial phases.
  • Accompany Sales to strategic clients during the pre-production phase to support the technical sale of the product.
  • Train the global Application Engineering team on technology solutions.
  • Support technology introductions and new product launches at global trade events.

Qualifications:

  • Self-driven, a leader, innovative, and results-oriented.
  • Extensive experience in software design and embedded wireless system design.
  • Proven ownership of the full product lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Passion for consumer electronics and human-machine interactions.
  • Familiarity with various wireless communication standards.
  • Expertise in designing high-volume IoT applications.
  • Experience with recognition technologies and devices, such as voice processing and image recognition.
  • Comfortable engaging with C-level executives.
  • Skills in algorithm development, optimization, wireless communication protocols, and more.

Education:

  • MSc with 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • PhD preferred.

Compensation Range:

150-300k
