Job Overview

Lightmatter is at the forefront of developing chips that facilitate extreme-scale artificial intelligence computing clusters. We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager who is enthusiastic about innovation and eager to tackle complex technical challenges while contributing to groundbreaking work in optical computing.

This role is pivotal in coordinating the engineering efforts behind Lightmatter's AI and Chiplet Interconnect products. The successful candidate will oversee program management for our silicon hardware engineering team, guiding projects from conception through to production. Collaboration with various engineering teams across the organization will be essential to achieve the team's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage planning, scheduling, and daily execution to support the development of silicon, packaging, and systems.
  • Work closely with engineering leads to accurately estimate and prioritize tasks, ensuring high-quality outcomes within a realistic timeline.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that align with business needs and key stakeholder expectations.
  • Monitor project schedules and quality, proactively identifying potential issues and communicating them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings and operational checkpoints throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide clear and targeted updates to management regarding project plans, key milestones, and overall status.
  • Deliver hands-on project management and cross-functional coordination to achieve exceptional program results.
  • Oversee release schedules and milestones in a dynamic environment.
  • Engage with external vendors and customers as part of program initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in semiconductor technologies with involvement in multiple tapeouts.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Experience in silicon design, packaging, and system semiconductor technologies.
  • Proven track record in hardware program/project management.
  • Ability to influence decisions and lead teams within a matrixed environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and adeptness at multitasking in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated capability to identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Proficient in program management tools such as MS-Project, Asana, Smartsheet, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work across various functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with photonic structures, optical communication, and laser technologies.
  • Experience in establishing project management initiatives in a startup or new business unit environment.
