About the Role:

As a pivotal member of the Databricks team, you will oversee the allocation of computational resources, ensuring alignment with product, sales, and research priorities. This position involves spearheading strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing GPU utilization and procurement processes.

Your Contributions:

  • Foster innovation and deliver exceptional products by guaranteeing that AI teams have access to necessary GPU resources.
  • Enhance product profitability through strategic initiatives focused on optimizing GPU usage and procurement.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing regular updates and presentations.
  • Implement significant improvements in compute management, efficiency, and scalability by identifying and executing process enhancements.
  • Ensure alignment with executive leadership on strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead initiatives to optimize GPU utilization and procurement, incorporating financial analysis and legal considerations.
  • Develop and execute a GPU resource allocation strategy that aligns with revenue generation and research goals.
  • Create and maintain analytics and reporting for compute resources.
  • Collaborate with finance, sales, research, engineering, and product management teams to define and deliver on AI initiatives.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with stakeholders, including executive leadership, to secure GPU resources and advance strategic AI projects.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in GPU technology and leverage this knowledge to drive product innovation.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders through regular updates and presentations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products by managing project execution and associated risks.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, emphasizing cross-team negotiations, resource management, and strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex technical projects on schedule and with high quality.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve issues with executive leadership and assess trade-offs between business objectives using data.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining analytics to track and visualize resource consumption through SQL, reports, and dashboards.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Preferred familiarity with GPU technology and its applications in generative AI and machine learning.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow is advantageous.
  • Background in compute capacity management and financial analysis or sales quoting is a plus.
