The Facilities department is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the operational activities at UHealth. This role involves managing a team of skilled tradespeople, including plumbers, electricians, HVAC specialists, and maintenance staff, ensuring the continuous operational efficiency of designated facilities.

  • Oversees the timely and professional completion of work assignments while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Gathers feedback to assess customer satisfaction with facilities services.
  • Addresses performance and employee relations issues in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Reviews various reports to identify and resolve any operational challenges.
  • Assists in budget management for labor, materials, and outsourced services, providing recommendations for resource optimization.
  • Evaluates and approves invoices for services and materials from external vendors.
  • Utilizes appropriate systems to compile data and generate budgetary reports, highlighting cost trends and maintenance frequency.
  • Ensures adequate staffing during peak times, emergencies, and significant university events.
  • Verifies the accurate and timely completion of time cards.
  • Establishes and regularly assesses the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with university policies.
  • Ensures staff are trained on internal controls and university policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

  • Understanding of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct and evaluate departmental operations.
  • Capability to set departmental goals aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Proficiency in planning, delegating, and supervising the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Commitment to the core values of the university.

Relevant education, certifications, and work experience may also be considered.
