Waste Management Operations Leader
The Waste Management Operations Leader is tasked with overseeing entry-level managerial responsibilities related to the daily functions and upkeep of landfill operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs the daily activities of the waste management team, including operators and laborers. Organizes, coordinates, assesses, and supervises the work of team members. Establishes priorities and schedules for work assignments. Provides training to staff on safety protocols and operational methods. Responsible for the administration of disciplinary actions and addressing employee grievances.
  • Identifies and resolves operational challenges, offering technical guidance and solutions to ensure compliance with solid waste regulations.
  • Maintains comprehensive records of all facility operations, including daily logs and periodic operational reports.
  • Coordinates operational tasks such as maintenance, staffing, and housekeeping duties.
  • Procures necessary supplies and equipment to support operational and staffing needs.
  • Facilitates on-the-job training for new hires and conducts in-house training sessions on new operational techniques and safety measures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED, along with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience. Training in supervisory techniques is preferred. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as well as a drug screening and background check, are mandatory.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Candidates should demonstrate experience in landfill environmental compliance, regulations, leachate and landfill gas management, and managing capital improvement projects at landfill sites. Proficiency in overseeing contractors and consultants, managing construction projects from inception to completion, and exhibiting leadership and supervisory capabilities is essential. Candidates should also be adept at problem identification and resolution, familiar with equipment and materials used in solid waste management, and possess experience in operating heavy machinery (such as backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks) along with preventative maintenance of construction-related equipment. Strong communication and public relations skills are also required.

Compensation:
Starting at $27.50/hr.
