Job Title: Residential Service Technician

Department: Service Division

Reports to: Residential Service Supervisor

Compensation: Hourly wage based on experience

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in HVAC service

Job Overview:

The role involves servicing residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems and equipment, which includes:

  • Packaged units (ground and rooftop)
  • Split system installations
  • Central station air handlers
  • Diverse air distribution systems
  • Flexible, spiral, and single wall duct systems
  • Ceiling and wall grilles and diffusers
  • Gas furnaces
  • Geothermal systems
  • Boilers
  1. Timely servicing of the equipment listed above, including necessary repairs.
  2. Ensure effective communication between EMCOR Government Services and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a valid driver's license and meet physical requirements for the role.
  • Obtain or maintain an EPA refrigerant certification as per company guidelines.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions as required by company policy.
  • Report daily to receive work assignments from the residential dispatcher.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and testing on equipment under maintenance contracts.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and measuring equipment for maintenance and repairs.
  • Document and communicate any additional repairs or diagnostics needed to the dispatcher.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including check sheets and time cards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to protect oneself and company property.
  • Maintain communication with the dispatcher and supervisor regarding schedules and information needs.
  • Care for and maintain the company vehicle according to established standards.
  • Follow directives from the Residential Service Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Restock service vehicles with necessary parts and supplies as needed.
  • Engage in training sessions and courses to enhance technical skills.
  • Develop effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be available for after-hours emergency service calls when required.

Physical Demands:

  • Candidates should be physically capable of lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Service technicians will handle materials for projects, often in challenging environments.
  • Climbing ladders and using aerial lifts may be necessary to complete tasks.
  • Familiarity with safe operation of tools such as hammer drills is essential.
  • Work environments may vary from outdoor conditions to indoor office settings.
