Overview of the Role:

The primary function of this position is to provide service for residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems and associated equipment, which includes:

  • Packaged units, both ground and rooftop
  • Split system units
  • Central station air handlers
  • Diverse air distribution systems
  • Flexible, spiral, and single wall duct systems
  • Ceiling and wall grilles and diffusers
  • Gas heating systems
  • Geothermal heating systems
  • Boilers
  1. Efficiently service the equipment listed above and perform necessary repairs.
  2. Ensure effective communication between EMCOR Government Services and all clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a valid driver's license and meet all physical requirements necessary for job performance.
  • Obtain or maintain an EPA refrigerant certification in accordance with company policies.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions as dictated by company guidelines.
  • Report to work punctually each day to receive assignments from the residential dispatcher.
  • Conduct all scheduled maintenance and testing on equipment covered by maintenance agreements in a professional manner.
  • Utilize various diagnostic and measuring tools to perform maintenance and analyze repair needs.
  • Document and communicate any potential repairs or further diagnostics to the residential dispatcher.
  • Complete all required documentation, including check sheets, time cards, and parts usage records, accurately and legibly.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to protect oneself, colleagues, and all company and customer property.
  • Maintain regular communication with the residential dispatcher and Residential Service Supervisor regarding information needs and schedule adjustments.
  • Ensure the company vehicle is maintained and presented according to company standards.
  • Follow directives from the Residential Service Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive but serves as a guideline for the role.
  • Restock the service vehicle as necessary to ensure an adequate supply of approved parts and materials.
  • Engage in training sessions and pursue courses to enhance technical skills as appropriate.
  • Develop effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be available for after-hours emergency service calls when required.

Physical Demands:

  • Candidates must be physically capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Service technicians are responsible for loading and unloading materials for projects and positioning them as needed.
  • Climbing and working from ladders and aerial lifts may be necessary to complete tasks.
  • Familiarity with the safe operation of tools such as hammer drills is required.
  • Work environments may vary from outdoor conditions to standard indoor office settings.
