Reports to: Residential Service Supervisor

Compensation: Hourly, based on experience level

Experience Required: Minimum 2 Years

Job Overview:

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide maintenance and repair services for residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems and associated equipment. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Packaged units, both ground and rooftop
  • Split system units
  • Central station air handlers
  • Diverse air distribution systems
  • Flexible, spiral, and single wall duct systems
  • Ceiling and wall grilles and diffusers
  • Gas furnaces
  • Geothermal systems
  • Boilers
  1. Efficiently service the equipment listed above and perform necessary repairs.
  2. Maintain effective communication between EMCOR Government Services and all clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a valid driver's license and meet all physical requirements to perform job duties.
  • Obtain or maintain an EPA refrigerant certification as per company standards.
  • Adapt to outdoor weather conditions and temperature variations as required by company policy.
  • Report to work punctually each day to receive assignments from the residential dispatcher.
  • Conduct all scheduled maintenance and testing on equipment covered by maintenance contracts in a professional manner.
  • Utilize various measuring and diagnostic tools necessary for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Document and communicate any potential repairs or further diagnostics needed to the residential dispatcher.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately, including check sheets, time cards, and parts usage records.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to protect oneself, colleagues, and company property.
  • Maintain regular communication with the residential dispatcher and Residential Service Supervisor regarding information needs and schedule adjustments.
  • Ensure company vehicle is maintained according to company policies, including cleanliness and upkeep.
  • Follow the directives of the Residential Service Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive but serves as a guideline for the role.
  • Restock service vehicle as necessary to ensure adequate supplies and parts are available.
  • Engage in training sessions and enroll in courses to enhance technical skills as needed.
  • Develop effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be available for after-hours emergency service calls when required.

Physical Demands:

  • Candidates must be physically capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Service technicians will typically load and unload materials for projects and maneuver them into position at job sites.
  • Ability to climb ladders and operate aerial lifts as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Familiarity with safe operation of tools such as hammer drills is essential.
  • Work environments may vary from outdoor conditions to standard indoor office settings.
