Reports to: Residential Service Supervisor

Compensation: Hourly, based on experience

Experience Required: Minimum 2 Years

Overview:

The primary function of this role is to maintain and repair HVAC systems and ductwork for residential and light commercial applications. The technician will work with various equipment and components, including:

  • Packaged units (ground and rooftop)
  • Split system units
  • Central air handlers
  • Diverse air distribution systems
  • Flexible, spiral, and single wall duct systems
  • Ceiling and wall grilles and diffusers
  • Gas heating systems
  • Geothermal units
  • Boilers

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform timely service on the listed equipment and execute necessary repairs.
  2. Ensure effective communication between EMCOR Government Services and customers.

Essential Duties:

  • Hold a valid driver's license and meet physical requirements to perform job tasks.
  • Obtain or maintain an EPA refrigerant certification in line with company standards.
  • Adapt to outdoor weather conditions as required by company policy.
  • Report daily to receive work assignments from the residential dispatcher.
  • Conduct all scheduled maintenance and testing for equipment under maintenance contracts professionally.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and measuring equipment for maintenance and repairs.
  • Document and communicate any required repairs or diagnostics to the dispatcher.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including check sheets and time cards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to protect oneself and company property.
  • Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher and supervisor regarding job status and schedule changes.
  • Care for and maintain the company vehicle in accordance with policies.
  • Follow directives from the Residential Service Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • This list of duties is not exhaustive but serves as a guideline for job expectations.
  • Restock the service vehicle with necessary parts and supplies as needed.
  • Engage in training sessions and pursue courses to enhance technical skills.
  • Develop effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be available for after-hours emergency service calls when required.

Physical Demands:

  • Candidates should be physically capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. and moving equipment as necessary.
  • Service technicians will handle materials for projects, often in challenging environments.
  • Climbing ladders and using aerial lifts may be necessary to complete tasks.
  • Familiarity with the safe operation of tools such as hammer drills is expected.
  • Work environments may vary from outdoor conditions to standard office settings.
