Job Summary

The Association-American Cancer Institute is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Chair, Department of Radiation Oncology. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong academic background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in the field of radiation oncology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Department of Radiation Oncology, aligning with the Institute's overall mission and goals.
  • Develop and implement effective plans to advance the Department's research, education, and clinical programs, ensuring excellence in all areas.
  • Lead and manage a team of faculty and staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including patients, families, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in radiation oncology, applying this knowledge to inform Departmental decisions and initiatives.
Requirements
  • MD or equivalent degree, with board certification in radiation oncology.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of California.
  • Strong academic background, with a track record of research accomplishments, productivity, and peer-reviewed extramural funding.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in academic leadership, with a strong understanding of the academic medical center environment.
  • Strong track record of program development and faculty and trainee recruitment and development.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational systems, with a strong focus on collaboration and partnership-building.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
