Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Oncology Dosimetrist to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our radiation therapy team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy, ensuring accurate and effective delivery of radiation doses.
  • Dosimetry Calculations: Perform complex dosimetry calculations to ensure accurate dose delivery and minimize risk to patients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of radiation therapy services.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Education and Training: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in radiation oncology and medical dosimetry, and participate in ongoing education and training to enhance professional development.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in physics or related field, or graduation from an approved medical dosimetry program.
  • Certification: Certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) within 2 years of hire date.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
