Radiation Control Technician 4 Job Description

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Control Technician 4 to join our team at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM.

Job Summary

We are looking for a senior radiation protection technician with extensive experience in supporting radiological activities and facilities, as well as applying operational health physics to work. The successful candidate will perform the full range of RCT support activities, serve as the primary point of contact for planning and coordination, and ensure resolution of conflicting demands in highly dynamic and challenging conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement radiological work control packages (RWCPs) as an authorized subject matter expert.
  • Provide coordination of work area resources to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Fulfill customer radiation protection requests while ensuring established RP-1 priorities are followed.
  • Work effectively with customers and supervision to resolve problems, including elevation of issues beyond the ability of the RCT 4 to resolve.
  • Anticipate and handle unforeseen issues, including technical supervision responsibilities and providing technical leadership and review.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and four to six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional training, certification, and/or education may be expected, including associate degrees and graduation from technical institutions.
