RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (DRAGON SPACECRAFT MECHANISMS):
Oversee the production, assembly, and integration of structural mechanisms for spacecraft.

Formulate production methodologies and facilitate the transition of components and assemblies from the development phase to full-scale production.

Provide insights on new product designs by applying Design for Manufacturability and Assembly principles.

Execute design modifications, process enhancements, and adjustments to existing workflows to minimize assembly and fabrication time and costs.

Establish and maintain project lifecycle roadmaps from initial production through to sustainment.

Identify and resolve manufacturing discrepancies in collaboration with the quality assurance team, addressing issues related to design, fabrication, and assembly.

Innovate and develop tooling, fixtures, and shop aids to optimize production processes.

Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis to address performance anomalies during functional and performance testing and integration.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in aerospace, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or testing (internship experience may count towards this requirement).

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree in aerospace, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering.

Experience with structural assemblies in spacecraft or aircraft.

Knowledge in process development, facility and line layouts, PFMEA, and error-proofing techniques.

Familiarity with Unigraphics (UGS) and Teamcenter CAD and PDM systems.

Expertise in metallic manufacturing techniques, processes, and equipment, including machining, welding, drilling, and sheet metal forming.

Understanding of data acquisition systems, including National Instruments hardware and LabView programming.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position may necessitate extended hours and weekend work.

Must be collaborative and actively engage with the production floor.
