Description

As an Aquatic Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all visitors at the aquatic facility. Your role will involve enforcing facility regulations and assisting in the management of part-time and seasonal lifeguard personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all lifeguard duties, ensuring that swimmers are adequately monitored in the pool and surrounding areas, while actively preventing accidents and addressing potential hazards.

• Provide emergency care and first aid as needed until emergency medical services arrive, including performing water rescues.

• Assist in the recruitment and supervision of part-time and seasonal lifeguard staff.

• Participate in the training, development, and evaluation of lifeguard personnel.

• Help plan and enforce lifeguard schedules to ensure sufficient coverage during operational hours and events.

• Recommend and enforce safety protocols for patrons at the aquatic facility.

• Perform administrative tasks essential for the effective operation of the aquatics program.

• Support the maintenance and operation of the pools, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards as per regulations.

• Manage the distribution and requisition of aquatics equipment and supplies, recommending purchases as necessary.

• Collaborate with other departments by assisting with special events and recreational programs as needed.

• Prepare and submit reports on rescues, incidents, and first aid to your supervisor.

• Attend mandatory training sessions and in-service meetings.

• Maintain open communication with your supervisor regarding work-related activities.

• Adhere to all personnel, safety, and departmental policies and procedures.

• Assist colleagues and other divisions as required.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred.

• Valid driver's license with a driving record compliant with Town policy.

EDUCATION:

• CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard Certifications are mandatory.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Lifeguard is required.

Successful candidates must pass a post-offer drug test and comprehensive background checks.

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the public, staff, and volunteers.

• Flexibility to work various hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

• Capable of talking, seeing, hearing, reading, and working in challenging environmental conditions.

• Ability to perform strenuous physical activities, including running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs of equipment.
